Un-Happy Thanksgiving from Kindle Fire to YUKU.
Problem with textured materials.
When I export the model to .x format and load in game, only the non-textured materials show up.
Could anyone give me a few pointers as to what might be wrong? Since all the textures look great in Wings3d.
When I open the .x file in wordpad the textures seem to be assigned ok to the materials.
This is a screenshot of Wings3d showing the outliner window and model. The rust textured items are not rendered in game, they appear like the default material (white) although the hull and default materials all look fine.
Many thanks in advance for any possible help.
I have only been using Wings3d for a week or so, so it maybe something I am doing wrong. However I am really struggling to find a resolution.
I have solved this problem. The way I built...

Wings 3d showing wrong coordinates
In that image above, the whole object is centered at 0,0,0. The face at the end should be at coordinates -3,0,0 however when I select the face, Wings reports the coordinates as -3.000103, -0.000992, -0.000367. As I said before, the dimensions between the parts of this model are exactly correct, it is 6 units long, and 5.82 units between the hexagonal interfaces at the end. Why is Wings3d not showing the correct coordinates, and how can I fix this?
Thanks,
Matt

Wings3D Support ? Whos out there ?
I used to rely on PuzzledPaul and Ran13 and several other people to
answer question like this ...
Is there a way to do a selection conversion from
primarily closed loops (selected) ... to identify hidden non-loops
among well behaved closed loops ?
PP ... if you are lurking ...
I'm thinking about writing a plugin to find dangling parts of open loops (perhaps converting selected edges to "end-points".
Or maybe finding the smallest "chart" or loop among intersection loops.
If it can be done easily nough with core Wings3D ... I'm all for trying it that way.
Why doesn't rotate around Y axis do what it says ?
Why does it rotate around "local x axis" instead ?
Please Help, installing Wings3d in Ubuntu 11.10
Thank you for taking the time to help me^_^

Input failure in Kubuntu
Hi
I don't know if this is a bug or what, but I have a Vaio FW (Intel Core 2 Duo / ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650) series with Kubuntu, I installed Wings 1.4.1 from the repository, and then downloaded another from SourceForge.
Wings runs perfectly at the start. When I begin modeling or load a model it begins to have input issues: I have to click twice every time; then, after a while it becomes uncontrollable and the whole OS mouse input becomes "corrupted". If/when I manage to close Wings it takes a while for the input methods to normalize. Odd...
It works perfect under Windows 7.

Some Wings3D files are UN-COLORABLE ?
Anyone seen this ? I wash all extra properties away by
exporting to OBJ and then re-importing.
These are odd-ball medial imaged data sets ... but they should be
manifold and all. I've been closing holes, etc.
Run clean up. Try to chunk away parts with loop cut.
But no operation can change my model of any looped off part
as COLORABLE. I can add a cube nearby and it accepts color just fine.
Anyone ever seen this sort of behavior ?
Extrude on TWO-FACED object ...
Doesn't it feel like extrude edge of a two faced object needs
special attention not given yet in the code ?
Take a cube. Collapse into two faced object with square faces.
Select an edge. Do extrude along an axis.
Not sure I like where the bevel sets the extra edge.
What happened to Wings 3D website?
Google Sketchup worth the time investment?
I am a moderate user of wings3D. That is, I have been using it for 5 or 6 years now, I use it exclusively for drawing technical models, and I use it only when I need it, no research or experiments for fun. About the technical subjects: mostly I create drawings which should give the user an idea how something looks or is assembled. Dimensional accuracy is not the most important as long as the ratios look more or less right. Rendering is something I never do, and I am happy when I can color objects and get the lights and shades right using the "quick preview". Here an example of what I mostly do:
The cons of using wings3D that I feel is that sometimes it is tedious to create complicated shapes, like bended pipes. This requires a lot of manual calculation of 3D angles, extrusion, loop cutting, rotation about a point, etc, etc. Tasks are often repetitive as well. The user...
Trying to find a Tetrakaidecahedron
Can anyone find a OBJ of one of these ?
I found a few but they were triangulated and stored in a useless format.
[Edit ... ] Found on on Wikipedia ... now just need to find the mated object.
